Con mi amiga Isabel estuvimos en Creativa, la feria de manualidades en la Casa de Campo de Madrid.
My friend Isabel and I went to "Creativa", the Crafts Fair held at the Casa de Campo de Madrid.
Había mucho sobre patchwork y manualidades y técnicas en papel, como scrapbooking, y zentangles, pinturas, confección de bolsos; también punto de cruz, cuero y madera, aunque menos...
A mi personalmente me interesa el
patchwork, pero los temas cubiertos eran diversos.
There was a lot related to patchwork and quilting, paper crafts and techniques, like scrapbooking and zentangles, colour paints, bagmaking,nqnd also crosstitch, leather and woodworking though less...
I'm particularly interested in patchwork, but there was a wide variety of crafts covered.
Había muchas y muy variadas telas y otros complementos de costura.
There were lots of fabric and a wide variety of them, and all sorts of sewing notions and complements.
También había libros y revistas. Casi como para comprar uno de cada!!!!
There were also books and magazines. I could have bought one of each!!!!
Entre las cosas que vimos, había máquinas de coser de diversas marcas, sistemas de acolchar, de brazo largo, que todavía son la novedad aquí, por el precio y el espacio que ocupan.
Among the things we saw, there were sewing machines of different brands, long arm quilting systems
which still a novelty here, due to price and to the room they take up.
Además de venta de productos había talleres y demos.
Apart from product sale there were workshops and demos.
Una señora de un
puesto de cintas nos explicó
cómo hacer pulseras y lazos. Nos lo explicó con claridad y calidad didáctica.
Por ejemplo, cómo hacer muchos lazos y todos iguales ,con un tenedor, trenzas con cinta de organza, doblándola, o un cocodrilo.
A lady at a ribbon stall showed us how to make bracelets and bows. She explained everyting very clearly and with great teaching skill.
For example, she explained to us how to make many bows all in the same size, with the help of a fork, and braids folding a piece of organza ribbon, or a crocodile.
O una flor con el viejo sistema que usábamos cuando estábamos en el colegio, de doblar dos cintas de papel una sobre otra para hacer un acordeón, que luego se puede transformar en una pequeña flor.
Or a flower with the old system we used when we were at school, folding two pieces of ribbon successively to make an accordeon, which then results in a small flower.
La parte de arriba de esta foto muestra el acordeón, la de abajo, el acordeón transformado en flor, al tirar de un extremo.
The upper part of this photo shows the accordeon, the lower, the accordeon turned into a flower by pulling one end of the rubbon.

I bought a piece of ribbon to label my work when I don't have time to embroider a label.
Otra cosa a destacar eran las exposiciones, una de patchwork coreano, que no conocía, una manta con bloques representando las regiones/provincias/comunidades autónomas de España. (fotos hechas con el telefono...ay!)
I also want to bring into focus the exhibitions, one of them Korean patchwork, which I did not know, a quilt made from blocks representing the different regions/provinces/autonomou communities in Spain. (Photos taken on phone... Ouch!!)
Y la que más me llamó la atención fue la colección de colchas de casitas hechas como "
colcha misterio" de
Yoko Saito, que publicó
Quiltmanía.
Una gata blanca como mi recordada Luna A white cat like my fondly remembered Luna.
No registré los nombres de las autoras de las colchas misterio. Eran en su mayoría de Francia, pero había alguna de Gran Bretaña, los Paises Bajos y Australia.
Todas fabulosas!!
I did not take note of the names of the mystery quilt quilters. They were mostly French, but there were also from Great Britain, the Netherlands and Australia.
All of them fabulous!!
También hubo un breve pase de modelos.
There was also a short catwalk show.
Sólo estuve uno de los días que duró la exposición.
I only was one of the days the show lasted.
Además de encontrarnos con gente conocida, que siempre es agradable y enriquecedor, vimos novedades y curiosidades para mejorar y ampliar
lo que hacemos y fue también un buen momento para conversar y darnos un espacio de reflexión
sobre lo que hacemos.
Apart from meeting people we know, which is always great, we saw novelties and curios that help us improve and widen what we do. It was also a good moment for converstaion and reflexion on what we do.
Hice unos emoticones tangibles y útiles. La idea la vi en Internet, pero no registré donde. I made some tangible, useful emoticons. I saw the idea on the Internet, but I did not take note where.
Fáciles de hacer. Easy to make .
