At my friend Graciela's new house the electrical switchboard near the entrance door was like a punch in your face: just where you stop to talk it is there, in front of you...
Asi que medí la zona a ocultar: +-80x 45 cm.  So I measured the area to be hidden: +- 31" x 17".

Amapolas. Rojo sobre fondo blanco y negro. Le gustan esos colores y combinan bien con los colores en los que está decorada la casa. Poppies. Red on a black and white background. She loves these colours and they match the decoration of the house. 

Un fondo totalmente hecho de patchwork en trozos muy pequeños e irregulares. ¿Retalitos? ¿yo?...
The background is totally pieced from small irregular shaped scraps. Scraps, me?...

Por encima, unas amapolas rojas en distintos tonos y texturas, que resultan de aplicar los petalos dejando los bordes sin terminación ("raw edge appliqué). Incluso dejé algunas flores sin coser totalmente a la tela de fondo.
On it, some poppies in different tones of red, and different textures that result from raw appliqué. I even left some of the petals without sewing them to the background.  

Un poco de acolchado para realzar las flores sobre el fondo.
A bit of quilting to enhance the flowers against the background.  

Los tallos y hojas de las amapolas para "neutralizar" el contraste de colores.
The stems and leaves of the poppies "neutralise" the colour contrast.
